129: Launch Day – Whispering in the Wind

It has to be kept to just four books. That’s the only way it’s going to get done, and the only way to sustain its sense of structural cohesion.
Present-Day Reflection

My sentiment in that journal entry from 3 years ago is still correct today. I must keep my scope limited to a manageable scale, or it will never get done. But I also have to let go of my idealized expectations for how it will get done, how it will be received, and be flexible about the timeframe that’s needed for a quality product.
Today’s the launch date for the paperback version of Wings of Providence through IngramSpark and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. It’s come as a whisper without fanfare, and it’s not even done. I still have the last 1/3 of the final edits to finish and upload. No pressure, seeing how nobody is waiting for it but me.
I just never had the time needed to market it correctly. Other than dropping a notice on Reddit and asking for reviews from a few influential online readers, which I got no response from, I haven’t done a single thing to promote it. I’ll have my final edits done and uploaded in a couple days, at which time I’ll be switching gears to 100% marketing.
None of this is how I wanted it to happen, but at least it’s happening.
