84: Remembering What’s Yet to Come

Well, I didn’t put the first half to bed after all. I edited and rewrote the first and second scenes of the first chapter. Also rewrote the Wings of Providence fable, transferred the entire edited prologue from my media tablet to paper, edited and rewrote Dougga’s scene in The Kulu, and edited Badru’s scene in The Wounded. In other words, I fixed all my most problematic scenes. Hopefully I can move forward now without looking back.
Present-Day Reflection

Rereading my old journals is sometimes like watching a movie I’ve seen before – anticipating, though not quite sure how soon, certain things I know are going to happen. It allows me to appreciate what a blessing it is that memory only works in one direction. Because I suspect it would make doing my work infinitely more difficult if I could remember what lies ahead of me as clearly as I remember what lies behind.
