69: Forward Momentum

12/4/2013

Finished the bride-price scene yesterday. Introduced Kinjul and told the animal bride myth. It all feels okay, but not really special. It lacks grace and atmosphere. It’s conveying information and setting things up for the future, but it doesn’t make me want to live there. Maybe I’ll nail it on the rewrite. I’m content for now though, just having it done so I can move on. My deadline for Dissolutions is New Years.

Four scenes down and about six to go.

Present-Day Reflection

8/2/2026

Sometimes, just maintaining some forward momentum is the best I can do. Like today. I’m having a hard time just getting out of bed and making it to my first cup of coffee. I’m not getting any of the real work done I want and need to do to launch my first book. But… I’m out of bed and writing here. Have an hour and a half to eat breakfast, shower, get dressed, and get out the door to catch the train to work. Not time to format the PDF and EPUB files for Wings of Providence like I’d like to do. I’m usually too tired to work on it when I get home from work, putting it off to the weekend

At least I’m staying up to date with these Author’s Journals. My deadline for my book launch is the end of this month. I’m content for now though, just looking forward to moving on. Sometimes, just maintaining some forward momentum is the best I can do.
